There's a Peguin on His Head.

I walked in to check on Milo during his nap and Tux was sitting on top of his head. I snapped the pic just in time. Right after I got it he rolled over and Tux fell off. My baby is a never ending source of amusement.

6 & 7 Month Update

Milo didn't have his 6 month check up until he was nearly 7 months old so this this the update for 6 and 7 months. It's official, my baby is small. He was in the 10th percentile for weight and the 25th for length. As light as he is he's no longer in the danger zone and is gaining weight quite nicely. I give his cereal mixture all the credit. It's Breast milk, formula, a fruit, veggie or meat and cereal. It's got a lot of calories and he loves it so it's really helping him pack on the ounces.

The biggest advancement lately is that he's starting to roll! He just started doing it yesterday and I am so proud of him. It's so neat to watch him develop and see him do things one day that he couldn't do the day before. He is also becoming even more social and interested in the things and people around him. He loves to give kisses. They're these huge, open mouth slobbery kisses all over the side of my face. If he's hungry he'll start sucking. It's too funny and so sweet. The bald patch on the back of his head is also starting to fill in with dark fuzz. I can't tell if it will be dark brown or dark blond when it all comes in. When it's all clumped together it looks very dark but when it's all spread out on his head it looks lighter. So who knows. He's eyes are also changing. They are starting to change from light blue to my color, this kind of aqua/gray.

Here are a few recent pics:

Packed Away Milo's Tiny Clothes

I finally got around to packing all of the little clothes that Milo has out grown, his swaddlers and sleep sacks today. I was feeling sad but I did ok until I came to two onsies that said, I love mommy and I love daddy, that we bought before we even got pregnant. At that point I lost right there in the closet. I am sure DH thought I was crazy but I couldn't help it. I was just remembering buying all of that stuff and being so excited about having my baby and how Milo was so tiny and I got sad that my baby is growing up so fast. The sleep sacks especially brought back all of the middle of the midnight changes and how itty bitty he was.

I waited and prayed for him and wanted him so much. I am so overwhelmed at how lucky I am and how fast it's all going by. He is so big now and can do these amazing things now. I can definitely see now how your baby can grow up, go off to college, get married and have babies of their own before you even know what's happened. I can also now see that we bought WAY to many clothes. There were things in there he never even wore or only wore once or twice.

31 Cent Scoops

Photobucket

Baskin Robbins is having 31 cent scoops on April 30th to benefit the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation!!! Since my brother is a fire fighter I thought I would pass this on. I can definitely go and eat ice cream for the cause. You can read more about it in the Baskin Robbins web page.

First Meat

Photobucket

The Dr. said that Milo can have meat now so we started on chicken today. Dear God, that stuff look disgusting and smells even worse. Usually I taste Milo's food to see what he's eating but I couldn't bring myself to try that. Milo seemed to like it though he wolfed down that mixed with oatmeal, formula and breastmilk (hmmm tasty). If the chicken smells anything like it did in the jar after it comes out I think those diapers will top even the mixed veggie diapers! YIKES!

Love Thursday

A website I found called Shutter sisters does a thing called Love Thursday. Every Thursday you post your love themed photo just for the enjoyment of doing it. This is mine for this week and it's my first time to contribute. I definitely love having all my ducks in a row.

Peaches Are A No Go

Photobucket

Milo got his first fruit today. I chose peaches becuase I craved they all during my pregnancy and ate my weight in the little Dole peach cups. So I figured he might be accustomed to the taste becuase they say that the amniotic fluid takes on the taste of the things you eat while your pregnant. I am not sure if my logic was flawed or they just don't know what they are talking about becuase Milo does not like peaches. After the first bite he would make the most horrible face and than refuse to open his mouth any time I got near him with the spoon. When I did trick him into a few more bites and he would refuse to swallow and just choke on it until he had to swallow. At every attempt to force a bite on him he just kept giving me this look of utter disgust and went "BAH, BAH, BAH..." which I assume roughly translated means, "How could you put that awful stuff in my mouth. Are you trying to poison me!?!" No amount of "airplane" or begging him to open his mouth was going to get those peaches in. I guess we'll hold off on the peaches for now.

Visit from the Cousins

Milo's cousins came to visit this weekend. It was fun to see them all and yestarday we went to the park to play! There were 2 birthday parties going on so there were 50 million kids there and the sunlight was so harsh that it made getting pics hard. They were either over or under exposed and filled with strangers kids. Considering how difficult it was I'm so pleased with the way a few of them turned out.

What do you do the with 3 year old that doesn't want to have his pic taken?

Baby Boy got to swing in the swing! It was to big for him but we made do and pushed him gently.

He had a blast! He would giggle and giggle every we swung him and it tickled his tummy.

More Outdoor Pics

In a continuing effort to learn more about photographing in outdoor light Baby Boy and I went to one of the "lakes" around here to play outside a couple of days ago. It was nice but a little breezy so we didn't stay long.

I noticed this one was overexposed after I took it but i think it ended up giving it a nice effect.

I think it is so neat how the light fell right on his face in these pics.
