Colic sucks!

Milo and I went to visit my parents last week while Chris was away taking a boot camp course for the CISSP exam. The visit went well until colic hit with a vengeance about mid week. It is so hard to listen to my child scream. At first it’s hard because you feel sorry for him and want to comfort him because he must be in so such pain and then it’s hard because you can’t comfort him so you want to muffle you ears and cry with him. He seems to get bouts of colic every few days and I’m so grateful it’s not everyday. Colicky days are the days when I agree with Chris that one child is enough for us .

Milo defiantly enjoyed visiting Gamma and Papa. He loved to smile back at Gamma and when Papa stumbled across dipping his pacifier in sugar water during a bout of colic it forever sealed their bond! He also got to see his great-grand parents last week and unfortunately cried most of the time he was there. Mother bought a travel swing before we went to Nanny and Papa’s and I was so glad we brought it because sleeping in it was one of the few times he was quite while he was there. He did have a good spell while he was awake on the last night we were there and I was glad the Nanny and Papa got to see that he can be conscious and not screaming. I think it makes for a better impression.

We also went to visit his uncle Brad on our way back to Mother and Daddy’s. We were going to go by Brad and Nikki’s house so that he could meet his cousins and so I could meet my youngest nephew but on our way there we got a call that one of my nieces woke up puking the night before so we decided it was best to just meet Brad at the fire station where he was working that day and avoid exposing us all to the stomach virus. It didn’t end up mattering though because Mother and I both ended up with the cold my father had at the beginning of the week. It’s a lot harder to do the parenting thing when you don’t feel well. Fortunately, Chris decided to take off Monday and Tuesday so I could get some rest and get to feeling better. He’s the world’s best husband!

Speaking of sick, I won’t be able to share any photos for a little while. My poor geriatric computer is on the fritz and will be under going and over haul to get it back up and running. Hopefully it will be restored soon and the world can once again enjoy pictures of my beautiful baby boy!
