Big Scary Accomplishment

Last night at around 1:00am Milo woke me up screaming at the top of his lungs. Even though it was through the monitor, which distorts the sound anyway, the screams sounded strangely muffled. I looked down at the screen and all I could see was the back of his head. He had flipped himself over and because he was swaddled couldn't flip back over. He was laying face down screaming into the sheet. When I saw it I literally ran across the house to the crib to flip him back over. I immediately unswaddled him and nursed him to calm him down. If ever there was a clear cut sign it's time to stop using the swaddler that was it. He doesn't sleep as well (or at all) with out it right now but that is better than suffocating in his crib sheet because he can't turn himself back over. It's cool that he can roll all the way over but that was a very scary way to find out that he can do that now. He had been rolling over onto his side for a while but he hadn't made it all the way over to his tummy so I didn't know he could and I sure didn't think he could do it if he was swaddled in his miracle blanket. That thing is like a little baby straight jacket. The miracle blanket website recomends to stup swaddleing around 3 1/2 to 4 months of age and now I know why.
