The Procedure Didn't Take

Milo's eye started getting goopey and watery again a few days ago so I called the Dr. just to see if that was normal. Well, it's not. The Dr. said it sounds like the procedure didn't take. So I moved up his appointment (which was scheduled for mid Nov.) so that we could get on the road to getting this all resolved as soon as possible. Since the probe apparently didn't work he is going to have to have a stint put in his tear duct and once it heals have it removed in 3-6 months. I am so upset. The Dr. said there was a 95% chance that the first procedure would work and he wouldn't have to have anything else done so I was not really prepared for the possibility of failure. I so want this to be over with.

Hi, I just saw your comment on my blog. Yes I've been there done that and it's not fun. Lana had the stent put in and it was supposed to stay in for a few months, but her Sunday school teacher thought it was a bit of fluff in her eye and yanked at it so it ended up protruding out of her eye! It still stayed in for a few more weeks (looking horrible, sticking right out of her eye) and then it came out. So it ended up only being in for about 6 weeks, but still, it WORKED! No more sticky eyes sealed shut with gunk in the morning. No more red cheeks from a constantly runny eye. It's wonderful.

I hope this encourages you and i wish you all the best for your son.

Well, I read this yesterdsay but have just now had the time to comment. I can't believe it didn't work. The stint sounds painful but then I've only ever had one stint in my whole life and that was after kidney stones. Ouch! LOL! I talked to your mom on the phone for awhile the other night and she caught me up on everything and all of Milo's appts. Glad to hear the speech thing is looking so good!!!
